Re-Opening Policies

The health and safety of our dancehampton families and staff is our first priority. We have implemented a number of new safety measures based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the NY State Department of Health.

Arrival Procedures:
1. Be on time! Punctuality is crucial in order to properly enforce our safety procedures.
2. Dancers will enter the studio for their class one at a time. Face coverings are required to enter the studio.
3. Dancers must arrive in dance clothing. There will be no changing in the studio.
4. Dancers will be asked to sanitize their hands before entering the studio..
5. Dancers will place their street shoes & belongings in an individual plastic container in the studio.
6. Dancers will be directed to a personal 6 x 6 space. Water bottles are the only personal items allowed in this space.

Class procedures:
1. Class sizes will be limited to ensure social distancing.
2. Dancers must practice social distancing.
3. Any dancer who cannot follow the social distancing guidelines will be asked to leave.
4. Face coverings must be worn at all times.
5. There will be no use of ballet barres & community mats/equipment for the foreseeable future.
6. There will be absolutely no food or eating allowed in the studio by students.
7. A designated staff member will be tasked with enforcing social distancing as well as frequent cleaning of all high-contact surfaces throughout our hours of operation.
​8. Parents, siblings and guests will not be permitted in the studio at this time.

Dismissal procedures:
1. At the conclusion of class, dancers will be released one at a time from the studio room.
2. Dancers will collect all personal items and exit the studio.
3. Dancers may only be in the studio when they are attending their registered class. Only dancers taking two consecutive classes may remain in studio during the 10 min cleaning period. All other dancers must leave the studio at the conclusion of their class. This means if your dancer has an hour break between classes, they must be picked up by a parent/guardian and return at the time of their next class.

Cleaning/Safety Procedures:
1. The studio will be sanitized nightly by staff, and a deep cleaning will take place twice a week by a professional company.
2. There will be 10 minutes between each class for staff to sanitize all high-contact surfaces and the restroom.
3. There will be a designated staff member tasked with monitoring the safety and cleaning procedures during hours of operation.
4. Students will keep their cellphones with their personal belongings inside of the designated plastic container. Parents/Guardians may call Kelly at (631) 513-8099 if they need to contact their dancer.

Exposure Procedures:
1. In the event that a dancehampton dancer or family member contracts COVID-19, we will refer to the guidelines put forth by our local officials.
2. Dancers who test positive for COVID-19 must remain home until they have been cleared by a doctor and must provide documentation.
